OnSong 2020 App Reviews

Recent update to OnSong does not allow searching the Internet for songs/chords...you need to belong to a subscription service. If I had known this was coming a few months ago when I purchased OnSong, I would not have bought it.

This app is not bad at all, but good luck getting support for it. So many unanswered questios at their site. Midi addon is very limited and buggy.

Onsong was the main reason I bought an iPad about 5 years ago! With every release Im so impressed by the new features theyve added. I LOVE that I can now transpose my songselect pdfs!! Keep up the great work!

for those of you who are dumping on this app because you can no longer simply go out and effectively borrow others intellectual property, well.. understand one thing… they did this pro actively to stop what would be a huge issue down the road, and to focus on what this app does better than anything out there… (not to mention their tireless search to perfect this little gem). If you are a serious live musician.. or a home hobbyist… there is NOTHING out there that beats this. This app is the sole reason i stayed with the very un-apple and totally confounding iPad. If you report an issue (that is an ACTUAL issue related to how this app can be used legally) you will typically get an answer within a few hours and a fix within a few weeks.. now.. look at all the other garbage on your iPads and phones and tell me any of those apps are either this useful or so incredibly underpriced for what the app actually does…

Ever since update it sais " Internet search unavailable " I cant upload at songs at all. Ive tried to figure out what was wrong but I am just getting no results and I am beyond fustrated at this point

I have to put my voice on here to say that I love using this for song leading at my church. Like others, my main reason for getting an iPad was to do exactly what this app does - get rid of all paperwork involved with song leading, simplify locating lyrics, write my own chords, transpose/rearrange on the fly, and send them out to the music team. I like being able to connect to my churchs SongSelect license to easily find the lyrics to whatever song I need. (Wish I could get piano music for our piano players as easily through OnSong! Maybe I just need to look a little harder!) These guys are always adding amazing ideas as new features! Theyve made what I initially thought was great even way better! And they dont seem to be slowing down. There have been some buggy updates, but never without their warning us in the release notes. So glad for the low $10 cost making it affordable for everyone! OnSong team, you are doing it right! P.S. Still havent seen anything close to this app... but Id still be hard-pressed to switch since I know these guys would be right up there matching features.

I just paid 16.99 for this a month ago because I could import songs directly through the program. Updated the app and all the sudden I cant. Might as well go with the Internet now. Its free and then I can create a folder of songs in a drive somewhere. DONT waste your money!! That was the only real value to this over free or cheaper apps.

This App is the best value of all the Apps I have. The support I received, when I recently almost experience a total lost of my whole song library, was unprecedented! The team at Onsong jumped right in to try to rescue my situation. Everyone did all they can (even on a weekend) to help solve my problem! They were not only understanding, but extremely compassionate to my situation. The result--Ive got my library back and theyve won my heart forever! You wont regret getting this App if you are a live musician or a Worship leader at church, youll have the whole ONSONG team backing you up!

Been using OnSong for years. Innovative updates make this app amazing! Great customer service when Ive needed it. Thanks for making my job a whole lot easier.

With every new revision there all always lingering issues. The people at OnSong are great at including all iPad versions as well as getting back to you in a timely manner with fixes or suggestions to work around a problem. I gave this version 4 out of 5 because of all the issues on the new release, one away from perfection. I wish all IT departments were as successful at their revisions.

Love this app. Time to throw away that 3 ring binder.

THE BEST app Ive ever bought...worth every penny. I play on as many as 4 different worship teams, they all play the same songs - but usually different keys. OnSong transpose function - done. I use DropBox for file management and archiving with a Rockin With Cross subscription to grab material in a pinch. I used my paper lead sheets to heat my house last winter.... :-)

Awful update-forced to use ios8. Had a great app & as usual with updates another disaster. Back to the drawing board. To bad you only show the good reviews!!!

Ive used this app from the days when it was still free and Ive always thought it was really well thought out and perfectly functional for the singer needing an easy-to-read and search friendly layout. I was a little disappointed by the forced update and pay-again plan. But the new version seems to be even more stable and streamlined than the first, so I am quite happy with it. The ONE thing that I find hard to deal with, on-the-fly, in a live situation, is that once youve selected a new tune from the pop-up menu/list, the selection menu doesnt disappear, forcing you to make the risky maneuover of touching the background to get the menu to disappear. If you mistakenly hit the menu again between guitar strums youve probably now selected a new song.

This is a truly amazing app. It has never failed to perform when I am performing. I mainly use the core features - songs, sets, and scrolling. I especially appreciate the regular contact from the OnSong Team as it provides a level of confidence that the app will continually be improved and refreshed.

Version 1.9991 caused all my songs to not be able to change the keys to the key of C...for example if a song is in the key of G i can transpose it to E without any problems but when i try to put it in the key of C it stays in the key of G

The best app out there Ive been using this app for almost five years now and this app is simply wonderfull. And the team behind it is amazing. They work hard to improve and improve. Since this summer I control the app with midi control from my guitar effect Boss Gt-100.

I was hesitant to pay for a more expensive app based on the crappy experiences I have had with other apps however I am not disappointed with Onsong at all. Onsong is very well thought out and has functionality for just about anything you might need. The more I use it, the more functionality I uncover. It works with my Airturn Duo peddles and can share music across my 2 iPads and my page screen tv ... making it great for a jam session with others. I wish they made a Windows and Mac PC version, as it would be a great compliment. It definitely is NOT amateur!

I bought this app thinking that it was probably like most other similar apps - just somewhat good. This app rocks! It is very well thought out and I highly recommend adding the "console" in-app purchase too as I t makes adding and editing songs a breeze! Nice tutorials online too Thanks
